Colonial Beach Volunteer Fire Department to Host Nest Cam

Colonial Beach Volunteer Fire Department’s osprey nest platform is a familiar icon being present for at least twenty years. This nest has been a success every year since anyone can remember. Saturday, October 21, the nest received a facelift. The Virginia Osprey Foundation and Dominion Energy partnered to replace the old platform with a new one provided by Dominion Energy. This nest will host an osprey nest cam set to be operational by Spring of 2024. The camera will stream a live feed 24/7 once the ospreys return to Colonial Beach from their wintering grounds.
